XBMC, the award winning media centre application for Linux, Mac OS X, Windows and Xbox, has reached Beta 3 and although it contains only fixes rather than features, the fixes are still worth a mention.
It is well known that Airplay support in XBMC suffered many issues ever since iOS 7 was released. However, the Foundation has now been able to purchase harware specifically for testing and developing this and other issues. As a result it looks as though most of the issues surrounding Airplay in the Beta 3 release have finally been resolved. (Unfortunately this doesn’t include Android for now.)
Other fixes you will notice in XBMC 13.0 Beta 3 are:
  • Android hardware video decoding support added to Exynos devices (such as Odroid or Exynos
  • Various video and audio playback fixes
  • Skip to DVD menu has now been brought on par with the automatic skip performed by VLC
  • Wii controller support on Linux
  • Language and description updates
  • Other fixes
